Wednesday, November 4

Well the Getaway is all over now:( but preparations now start for the march getaway now! We had a fab time in this wonderful venue, I was lucky enough to teach 2 classes one on the Friday evening and one on the Saturday night, and I really enjoyed the whole experience. The Friday night class was called "Find It" and the Saturday night Class was called "Metallic"

They were both very different from each other in that "Find It" was all about finding little embellishments than can be used on your layouts, and "Metallica" was a class exploring metalllic elements, including paper, ribbon brads and Glimmer Mists. I think all my "Pupils" really enjoyed trying some techniques they hadn't tried before, so that was a real bonus. All the ladies at the Getaway were great and really friendly and I was glad to meet them all!
Will leave you with some photos...

I will leave you with the Layout Laura Buckingham created with ScrapaGoGo's Mini kit for November, as always available on Grabit day.....

Another week over and what a busy week it's been, a birthday party, bike rides, scrapping and lots of photography. The party went by without any hitches and all the kids seemed to enjoy it.
I have completed a couple of LO's for challenges on the ScrapaGoGo Clubhouse, they have been set for all the ladies that are going along to the Getaway retreat at the end of the month.
Off to put my feet up :)

Friday, October 2

Blowing up balloons and putting up banners..... in readiness for a certain person's birthday tomorrow:) A busy day planned with a bowling party and then a family meal, let's hope we can stand the pace!!

Wednesday, September 30

It's Grab-It day in GoGo Land tomorrow, can you believe it's going to be October already, it's Mia's birthday on Saturday, we have bought Mia a bike for her birthday as it was quite obvious the other one was way to small for her. She is having a bowling party for her birthday followed by a family meal together.
Will leave you with some pictures of what is going to be available on Grab-It Day here

Had a great day yesterday at the Wyverstone crop, it was great to see some new faces, and lovely to sit next to Sheena. The crop was raising funds for the Macmillian nurses, so there was lots to take part in. I was lucky to win Queenie's Dundee cake, which made me smile. For a few snaps of the day visit Nicola's blog.
Right off to watch the season finale of this most excellent series

Friday, September 25

Tonight I have been glued to my TV watching the film on the left, not everyone's cup of tea I know, but definitely mine, the violence was very harsh but Tom Hardy played this notorious UK prisoner brilliantly. Like always Tom Hardy really played the role to the point of physically changing his appearance and piling on 3 stone of muscle for this part. Charlie Bronson really is an interesting if not slightly weird character, and his book "Silent Scream" will be definately added to my weird tast in biographies.

Changing the subject now completely I am off to my monthly crop at Wyverstone tomorrow, it's our yearly Macmillian crop, so let's hope there is lots of cake and money raised tomorrow. I will enjoy kicking back tomorrow as I have a full on week next week, which culminates in Mia's birthday on Saturday! Seven already, where does the time go???

Tuesday, September 22

I have been busy the last few days, catching up on normal day to day things, you know the things you really don't want to do but have to:)
But I did have the chance yesterday to photograph my ScrapaGoGo DT layouts for the "Mother Nature" Octobet kit. The Cosmo Cricket papers are amazing and the Jilli Bean Corrugated alpha is near enough edible...
Well to the boring tasks of ironing & tidying, but will leave you with some of my designs from Octobers kit......

Monday, September 21

Well the weekend entailed a very long drive to the ScrapaGoGo StoryTeller event in Bristol. All the ladies were brilliant and seemed to enjoyed out classes, it was a long day but I really enjoyed it, we finished it off with a lovely pub dinner, and I won't mention who, but somebody finished off their meal with this yummy afters (wasn't me!!)

Wednesday, September 16

Well I must congratulate myself (just incase anyone else doesn't! lol) I have given up smoking for a whole month as of yesterday. Surprisingly I found it quite easy, not like the hundreds of times I tried to give up before. Fingers crossed this is the end of smoking for me!!

I will leave you with some cards I have made this month for my Scrapagogo DT work, and if you would like to see more from the DT then click your mouse HERE

It's Been a Long sad time....

It's been a while I know, but I feel the time is right to Blog again, sadly I lost my mum 3 months ago and felt it just wasn't right to post again, but feel in the last few days I have turned a corner and feel a bit better, I know I have a long way to go but the future seems a bit brighter...
Will leave you with a quote/poem that somebody gave me, and I think it sums up how I should be feeling...

you can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived
you can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back or you can open your eyes and she all she has left
your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared
you can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
you can remember her and only thats shes gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
you can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want;smile, open you eyes, love and go on

September will see us stepping back into the traditional size we all love to scrap in, be it 12x12, or 8.5x11 whatever you favourite format. We will be creating three layouts that are based around the theme of “Life Lessons” - don't panic we will guide you gently through the creative process.

To help you get ready we suggest you prepare yourself for some honest journalling – something that you may not normally have written down, something that in the future will be of interest to those who discover the secrets of your scrapbooking.

Being a scrapbooker is just as much about letting the viewer learn about YOU as it is about learning about your holidays or family weddings etc, it’s a chance to write down some memories you have, wisdom, and experiences that may provoke the words “Wow.. I never knew that about my Mum/Dad/Sister/Brother” etc.

Here is our creative schedule for the three weeks following September Kit despatch:

Week One - 'Growing Up' with Nicola Kerridge

Week Two - 'Now' with SJ Dowsett

Week Three - Lisa Bond

Don't forget to join in the chat on the threads, you can pick up many tips from other members and designers alike. There will also be some 'Star Pupil Awards' for those that take an active part in the September Module.

*Please note that you do NOT have to subscribe to ScrapaGoGo to take part in this FREE year long inspiration Academy, the PDF's will be posted on the Chat Thread, Clubhouse and a link from our Blog*
